Koné, the capital of the Northern Province, has retained an authentic character despite the development of mining industry. You will find various shops and a village life during the day, characteristics of the bush life.

Koné brings together many outdoor leisure activities. You can opt for horseback riding and hiking, outings in the lagoon and mangrove by kayak and jet ski. 
Let us not forget the cultural centre of Pomémie, which showcases local artists and also organizes numerous concerts.

At about thirty kilometers, on the town of Voh, go to visit the eco-museum of the Café which will allow you to go back in the time of this culture that marked the history of the North of the Great Earth.  
A little further north, when arriving in Koumac, do not forget the climbing circuit and the rock caves of Notre-Dame.

 

Finally, the East Coast will surprise you by its road stuck between mountain and ocean. You will also find diving spots on Hienghène and Poindimié.
